About Me

About Me

I’m a product person with an M.A. in Organizational Leadership and 18 years’ experience developing strategy and leading product development at technology start-ups. Among other things, I’ve co-founded a web hosting company, been the first platform developer at a mobile marketing agency, and the first product person at a mobile app distribution startup.

I have a passion for learning and a natural curiosity about subjects like complexity theory, cognitive behavior, innovation, decision-making, motivation and how those things impact human interaction with software.

I hold a Bachelor’s of Business Administration (SCL) from Golden Gate University and and an MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, as well as a Servant Leadership Certificate from Gonzaga University. I am an avid learner & reader, almost always taking one course or another, and studying technology, leadership, and innovation through the words of a wide variety of authors both online and in print.

About this Site

This site was created as a place to share my professional ideas about business, marketing, product management, technology, strategy, and leadership, and the places where those subjects intersect.  You can expect to see a variety of writing, from my own casual observations of specific advertising, to my opinions on leadership theories, articles and books about business and technology, to the reasons I love certain products and services but won’t go near others.  Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in posting as a guest on this blog, to discuss anything I write about in further detail, or to suggest topics I haven’t yet covered.

Thanks for stopping by!

Melissa

NOTE:  I review books and write about products only because I have read the books and want to share my opinion about various products and services.  I receive no compensation from any of the companies or authors I write about.
